                  **  WRITING  FOR  FUN  **

    This group is for anyone who loves to write, be it stories or poems and the best part is listening to each other as we read them aloud.  Perhaps we should be renamed STORY TIME ! We are now a group of six with two vacancies. If you enjoy writing, be it  diaries, short stories or poems, maybe this is an interest group for you. The Writing for Fun group meets in my house on the Third Thursday of     the month - 10:00 am - 12:00     (Pam Carter)

     This poignant piece is inspired by the title -       **INSIDE &OUTSIDE **          by Lynne Williams

    Outside:         The sparrows chirp noisily in the hedge and a woodpecker taps on a tree in the garden.

    Inside:           “The sun is peeping through the curtains, it must be morning but I don’t remember going to bed.”

    Outside:       A milk float slowly makes its way along the road, bottles clinking as it goes over a pothole.

    Inside:        “I’m awake but not in my bed, just fully clothed in my favourite chair. My son said he was going to pop in;

                       he’s not here.”

     Outside:         Next door a baby cries and cats have a territorial scrap outside my window.

     Inside:       “I’m hungry now. I wonder if anyone is coming to see me today? I can’t find my glasses or tablets.”

    Outside:         The first train trundles along the railway track and a car makes it’s way down the hill.

    Inside:          “I don’t know what the time is, I think my clock has stopped.”

    Outside:         A bus stops on the other side of the road. I wonder if my son is on it?”

    Inside:          “I would love a cup of tea. Where is my kitchen?”

    Outside:          A fox rummages in a dustbin sending the lid clattering to the ground.

    Inside:         “I think I heard a key in the door.”  - “MORNING ELSIE! It’s Pam. I’ve come to help you wash and get you

                      some breakfast !”

                      “Oh thank you dear; sorry, what did you say your name was?”
